About the Speaker: Rachel is an entrepreneurial leader, a visionary marketing, event and community relations strategist with more than 23 years of experience. As a senior-level executive, Rachel's extensive industry knowledge and hands-on, realworld experience have positioned her as a mentor and a sought-after speaker at event and marketing conferences. Rachel has sold more than $10 million in combined sponsorship revenue throughout her career and marketed events to millions of consumers.
Using her unique combination of seasoned experience in a variety of areas -- branding strategy, tourism marketing, festival and event marketing and management, community and governmental relations, membership programs, fund development, sponsorship and grant development, parks and recreation funding and non-profit and association management -- Rachel crafts groundbreaking public relations, events, marketing and fundraising programs. With her leadership insight, volunteer and staff management experience and collaborative client service style, Rachel can lead the team to execute a successful outcome.
For more than two decades Rachel has championed events, marketing and sponsorship, learning the art of the deal, the operational secrets of events and understood the passion and grit it takes to pull off a win. She's managed and motivated the staff, volunteers and board of directors when needed. As an entrepreneur, she's learned the art of balance between risk and conservatism.
Rachel has served as the VP Marketing and Events for the Home Builders Association of Metro Portland since 2013, managing a team of 8 and producing a portfolio of consumer events and membership programs. Events including the Portland Home & Garden Shows, NW Natural Street of Dreams and Tour of Remodeled Homes are produced, sold and marketed in-house by Rachel and her team. Rachel manages revenue generation of more than $3 million dollars annually for the association.
